The International Symposium on Bioinformatics Research and Applications (ISBRA) provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and results among researchers, developers, and practitioners working on all aspects of bioinformatics and computational biology and their applications. Submissions presenting original research are solicited in all areas of bioinformatics and computational biology, including the development of experimental or commercial systems.

ISBRA focuses on the grand challenges for life science, bioscience and human health by showcasing leading-edge research on new technologies, methods, and tools around the processing, integration, analysis, mining, retrieval, interpretation, and presentation of data and determine how to transform data into meaningful information and actionable knowledge, with the aim of defining problems as well as solving problems in life science, biomedical discovery, public and population health, disease prevention, and healthcare delivery.

We invite authors to submit results that fall into general areas of bioinformatics, computational biology, and health informatics, including but not limited to the following:

Submissions that fall under any of the following categories are highly encouraged: original research contributions, or preliminary results or proof-of-concept studies arising from work-in-progress, or results arising from undergraduate research or student- initiated research, or survey of tools and techniques in bioinformatics and biomedical health informatics.

In addition, we will be accepting late-break poster submissions once the regular poster submission period ends. Accepted posters in this category will also be part of the conference program. However, the main (and only) difference is that the abstract of regular posters will be included in the ACM digital library proceedings for ACM-BCB, while the late-break abstracts will not be included in the proceedings.

Submission: All interested authors are expected to submit a 1-page abstract describing their posters on OpenReview. Submitted abstracts should not exceed one page in the (ACM Master Article Template), on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Submissions will be peer-reviewed on the basis of their originality, technical soundness, significance, presentation, and interest to the conference attendees.
