Xiang Wang's Biography

Biography: Xiang Wang, Ph.D. and M.D., is a professor of clinical psychology and psychiatry in the Medical Psychological Center, Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. She is also the Supervisor of Ph.D. candidate in the specialties of psychology. Dr. Wang received her M.D. degree of Clinical Medicine from Hunan Medical University in 1997 and the Ph.D degree in Psychiatry & Clinical Psychology from Central South University in 2005. From July 2013 to July 2014, she worked in Mclean Hospital of Harvard Medical School as a visiting scholar. She is currently the committee member of Medical Psychological Board in Chinese Psychological Society and Cognitive Behavior Therapy Board in Chinese Association for Mental Health. Dr. Wang’s research is focused on: 1) Combining psychosocial, behavioral, and in vivo neuroimaging techniques to explore the underlying biological mechanism of patients with depression or schizophrenia, especially for their reward-related motivation and decision-making processing dysfunction; 2) the comprehensive psychosocial intervention for patients with severe mental illness. Those research works was supported by 11 national , ministry, or provincial project research grants in which Dr. Wang is the primary investigator, and lead to more than 130 peer-reviewed research papers including more than 70 SCI/SSCI papers.
